Breeding

Tottlefields kennels believe in responsible breeding and are not commercial breeders.  I am working towards becoming a Kennel Club Assured Breeder and will following these criteria where possible.  If you are interested in a puppy from ourselves please bear in mind all our puppies are bred with a degree of work in mind so will require an active and stimulating life.  We reserve the right to prioritize the homes the puppies will be going to and would prefer working homes.

About our Breeding

All our breeding stock are hip/elbow scored (as applicable), eye tested and either genetically clear or DNA tested for hereditary conditions applicable to the breed.  We will never breed from an affected dog or breed a carrier to anything other than a DNA clear dog, thus ensuring that resulting progeny are guaranteed to never develop the disease.

We breed a litter every couple of years and all the puppies are born and raised in the home environment, to learn more you can now check the Moose and Mary Labs website.  We tend to keep the mother & litter quiet for the first couple of weeks but thereafter we encourage interaction, including handling and socializing, with the majority of pups leaving us at around 8 weeks of age.

All pups are registered with the Kennel Club and/or ISDS (International Sheep Dog Society) depending on eligibility. All our pups leave us microchipped, with a weeks supply of the puppy food that they have been weaned on and a pack which includes registration documents, pedigrees, health screening info, useful references and all our contact details. We also DNA profile and parentage test all our puppies to support their hereditary clear status on NDA health tests.. We like to keep in contact with all our new owners & their puppies and encourage regular updates while always being on hand to provide help and support where needed. Please feel free to upload pics of your growing puppies and information about their accomplishments on our Tottlefields Owners Facebook group for other Tottlefields owners to see.

Please note that if, for whatever reason, you are unable to keep your dog at any point in the future, it MUST be returned to us. If you will like to make sure your new pet is healthy, we recommend to take him or her to the vet charleston sc.
